What is a PLF?
The PLF (Passenger Locator Form) is a record of your journey and contact details so the government can get in touch if they need to.
What information do I need to provide?
When will I need to fill it out?
No earlier than 48 hours before you’re due to return to the UK.
Who needs to fill it out?
You and everyone you’re travelling with. This includes travel to all travel corridor destinations.
Those under the age of 18 will not have to fill out the form if:
If you’re coming back from Ireland, the Channel Islands or the Isle of Man and you stayed there for 14 days, you will not have to complete a PLF.
Where can I find it? And how do I fill it out?
You can access the PLF on the UK government’s website. You must complete it online (not by hand).
When and how do I show my PLF?
You can show a printed copy of the completed document or you can provide the confirmation email with the document attached on your phone. Border Force officers will scan the QR code at the top of the document.
What happens if I don’t fill out my PLF?
You may be fined £100 if you fail to provide this information.
Do I need to fill out a PLF for other countries?
Yes. Please check travel guidelines of the country or region you’re visiting right up until the day you travel.
